When Does It Snow in Portland!?!

A lot of clients who have moved here from other states ask me “When does it snow in Portland”… and all I can say is not usually before January!  As many years as I have lived here, it’s been rare for it to snow before Christmas…but I will say it has happened in the past 2 of the last 8 years…. So to have a ‘White Christmas’ is actually pretty rare for the city.  Not that it doesn’t happened above the 500 foot level, because it does in the West Hills of the City..but say downtown, not too much.

In the past couple of years we’ve gotten one late snowfall, like the end of March, early April….and they have been over 7 inches on those storms.

BTW, Portland completely shuts down with an inch of snow, people lose their minds, abandon cars on the freeways, make a run on food, it’s completely unnecessary…. I just shake my head.
